The limits on freedom of expression
« on: January 14, 2021, 04:45:06 PM »
I was wandering a bit about this, because news from United States are getting kind of scary.

All you hear is talk about censorship taking place on a big scale for content hosted being deemed too radical.

Now, Im more of a "soft" european moderate on many issues, but where is the limit on service providers going to? Reminding everyone that certain war games where legally banned not long ago for being considered too accurate as a representation of reality (yes, ww2 reality) in several countries. I also have strong concerns over content that does not seem too political now, but could became a target quite sooner than expected? "Games too violent" or whatever that suits their ideas taste.

And also a bit curious abot the chinese goverment putting pressure on hosting services worldwide, too. Isn't that even more worring?

What are your reflections on these present-day facts? :-\

To be honest, it is always the people, taking it to the extreme, forcing government and legal authorities to take more extreme route, to protect the innocent.

Humanity is weird.
